students in eight K-8 schools and one high school, the Watauga

labeled North Carolina Honor Schools of Excellence and Watauga High
School is a North Carolina School of Distinction as reported on the
state ABC’s report card as regulated by the No Child Left Behind
Act. Year after year, our high school students perform above average
on the SAT’s and are given many opportunities to excel and learn
more through the many programs of nearby Appalachian State
University.
